Campus Visit Inspires Giving

Marge Covey had known about City of Hope for more than 20 years before she truly understood its magic. As owners of a small business that manufactures beauty products, she and her late husband, Bill Covey, became familiar with City of Hope through National Professional Salon Industry events they attended with their clients.

It was only after her husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and eventually lost his battle with the disease that Covey had the opportunity to visit the institution. The experience was transformational. “It was just so impressive. There was so much that we saw: the whole campus, the rigorous research, the wonderful work that you do for patients.”

Inspired, Covey decided to make a significant gift toward multiple myeloma research at City of Hope. “ I decided, seeing the good work that City of Hope does, that I wanted to make a donation in memory of my husband. I knew my gift could make a difference here.”
