Capital Projects — For New and Renovated Facilities
As we continue to create an environment that promotes both discovery and compassionate care, it is essential that we make ongoing investments to improve and expand our buildings for faculty and patients. Over the last 10 years, we have built major new facilities including the state-of-the-art City of Hope Helford Clinical Research Hospital, the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center for Cancer Immunotherapeutics and Tumor Immunology and the Michael Amini Transfusion Medicine Center. We must continue this critical work, and gifts to capital projects ensure that City of Hope’s infrastructure keeps pace with our innovation and ideas.

Research & Patient Care — To Expand Our Work in Research and Patient Care, Today
As City of Hope looks to the future, we also focus on the present; our commitment is to healing patients today and seeking cures now. Current-use funding supports urgent work being done and has an immediate impact. These funds play a pivotal role in allowing progress to continue undeterred, providing essential seed money for researchers to explore new ideas without the traditional dependence on startup funds from governmental agencies. Successful early-stage research also often impacts the amount of future funding City of Hope receives to advance a project. Immediate use funds provide support for work in a specific area of research or patient care; help researchers pursue new opportunities in various fields; acquire advanced equipment and instrumentation; or provide funding for a postdoctoral fellow or graduate student.
